La Roche Posay Physiological Deodorant

When it comes to deodorant, I’m not very bothered with fancy brands and I’m usually reaching for anything on the promotion aisle (3 for 2 etc). I have been trough dozens of Sure, Garnier, Nivea…you name it, they were all grand and did the job. I mostly go for the deo spray as i haven’t find yet the roll on/stick who is not going to stain my clothes.

Lately i have been reading about the link between Aluminium salts and breast cancer (apparently they found traces of aluminium in the cancer cells) and started to look closely on my list of deodorant ingredients. Most of them have the aluminium as the second ingredient and aldo they offer a good “sweat” protection, i don’t think is too good for us.

This is when me and La Roche Posay cross paths. They have introduced to there skincare and body range, a new aluminium free deodorant: 24H Physiological Deodorant. It is available in spray, roll on and stick.

So this new deodorant is designed for sensitive skin, it is anti-odour, anti-humidity, aluminium free, alcohol free and paraben free. The blurb on the packaging is: “Enriched with ultra-absorbing Perlite to fight against humidity, Zinc Pidolate to neutralize odours and soothing Allantoin.”

After a couple of days of use, I’m pretty content with it. No nasty smells, no stains, everything seems to be hunky dory. I was a bit afraid of the non-aluminium deodorants, as i tried the Vichy aluminium free roll-on last summer and it did nothing to me. It offered zero protection and it just felt “wet”, this coming from a person who doesn’t perspire much.

The only bad thing that i can say about this deo is the price: 9 euro. It is not much, but compared to the 1.99-2.99 euro price of most deodorants it seems a bit high. Also i get trough them very fast, maybe one ever 2 weeks so almost 20 euro per month on deodorant adds up.
