Healthy Clean Eating Cooking Books Pharma Nord CLA 24:7 Anthropologie Mug

You know when you are on holiday and you’re all chilled and relaxed and actually looking forward to go back home and tackle all the things that needed to be doing months ago? Just me?!

Because i am still waiting to have my baby (six days overdue at this stage, but who’s counting), i developed some sort of cabin fever within myself. I fantasize about bending and picking stuff up from the floor. Running, jumping or speed walking on the street, instead of waddling like a duck or vegetating on the couch. Wearing actual clothes, not husbands long tops and pj bottoms. Feeling like myself again, basically.

My New Year Resolution is that i will get back in the best shape ever after having my baby. Ill learn how to cook, manage my food intolerances and start exercising regularly. Its something that i have been struggling for years to balance, mainly because of me failing to prep meals and just being an emotional eater. Im aware i will have a baby to look after and that is the priority, but i will also be at home without the stress of a full time job and i am very lucky to have a supportive and helpful family.

Planning for Success

I have taken advantage of the Amazon 50% Off Christmas Sale and stocked up on all the good and popular healthy cooking books at half price. Clean eating books can be quite expensive, ranging from €20 up to €28 and if want to have a variety it will prove to be quite costly.

I got two classic cooking books – the Ministry of Food by Jamie Oliver that promises to transform me in a cooking revelation in 24 hours and the newest one from Nigella – Simply Nigella for delicious desserts and good hearty dishes. Because i am gluten intolerant and both me and my husband want to start eating cleaner, simpler meals i choose Deliciously Ella, Get the Glow, Every Day Superfoods and the Happy Pear to guide us on to a better lifestyle. Flicking trough the recepies i love that there are minimal ingredients, you dont need to spend hours in the kitchen and honestly look and sound delicious. So far, Get the Glow by Madeline Shaw and Every Day Superfoods by Jamie Oliver are my favorites.

Supplementing

I really believe in good quality supplements to help getting things moving faster and getting better results in shorter time spans. I am definitely not an advocate of thermogenic fat burners or other strong weight loss pills that leave you all jittery and shaky. Just like the meal replacement shakes and powders, they aren’t a sustainable or healthy way to get a better life.

Something that i have been relying for years, almost 10 years at this stage, was a supplement called CLA – Conjugated Linoleic Acid and i have been faithful to the same brand since the beginning – PharmaNord. I was first introduced to it when i was working in a chemist in Bucharest, the Pharmacist went trough all the supplements with me and decided based on the studies and evidence that this is the best one for my needs with minimal side effects. Since then the formula has evolved and improved, from just a basic content of CLA now you can get the CLA 24/7 with additional Green Tea and Crarnitine for fat burning around the clock.

What i love about the CLA 24/7 is that you are not loosing water or muscle, in fact it helps with muscle recovery after exercising and it helps re-shaping the contour of your body. Its extremely efficient for the abdominal and hip area, it helps redistribute the fat and melt away centimeters. Exactly what i will need after my pregnancy.

There is a catch: it doesn’t work if you aren’t exercising. I am not talking lifting weights or running marathons, just good old fashioned power walks or 30 minutes DVD’s, whatever works for you. If you are planning to eat clean and take the supplement without exercising, i would recommend to skip CLA altogether as it will be a waste of time and money. This is again, from my own experience taking the tablets trough out the years.

I am planning to use the CLA 24/7 for at least three months, once i am allowed to start supplementing and combined with clean eating and exercise to get my body back. I still need to fill my cupboards with some key ingredients for healthy eating, like coconut butter, nuts and seeds and other good stuff from the Health Shop and i need to invest in a good Juicer and Food Processor. Im leaving no room for bad choices and excuses :).

I will document my nutritional lifestyle change weekley to keep me motivated, hope it is something you will be interested to see and read. If you have any advice or tried and tested ways to stay on track, let me know. This momma is getting fit!

PR Sample. My honest opinion as always, i have been taking the supplement before
it was sent to me. I will happily re-purchase it with my own money in the future.
Keep an eye for future posts tracking my results.

I remember that feeling too well and am starting to get a bit of cabin fever myself, even though I am only 32 weeks in. But the last weeks are the hardest!
It was pretty hard getting back in shape after the first baby, or at least a lot harder than I had realized, because despite being at home I was completely drained for the first three months. But I managed to get back on track (I did some blog posts on that topic, if you care to have a read) after I found some exercise I could incorporate into my new daily schedule.
Jus take it easy in the beginning, your body needs much more recovery than you think it will, and taking care of the baby is very exhausting.
But I got myself Deliciously Ella and Get the glow as well, so I guess we have similar goals!

I will take every day as it is and even if i make small changes it will help on the long run. My sugar addiction is atrocious and despite making me feel ill, i still eat gluten. Idiot!

I will check out your posts for sure, need as much inspiration as i can get. Its so lovely having somebody that understands these kind of things. We can motivate each other :).
