Escada Cherry In The Air

Posted : 10th April 2013

Escada Cherry in the Air Perfume

The Easter Bunny (!) surprised me with this gorgeous perfume this Easter, probably after getting tired of hearing me blabbing on how much i love cherrys and implicitly this perfume. Sometimes they do listen…

This is my very first Escada perfume and it didnt disappoint one bit: Cherry in the Air is a light, fun, fruity, cherry flavored summer scent that will put you in a holiday mood.

With heart notes of Marshmallow, Gardenia Petals, Coconut Orchid, top notes of Black Cherry, Raspberry, Mandarin on a bead of Sandalwood, Suede Accord and Oakwood its the ultimate girly summer fragrance.

When first sprayed, i get a sniff of sweet raspberry and then it settles to the sourness of black cherry. Its hard to explain, its a blend of sweetness, sour and fruity citrus scents that just make me happy. You will just have to experience it for yourself i suppose.

Already eying up the 100ml, it even has a cherry ring! And maybe a body lotion…

Roger & Gallet Fleur D’Osmanthus Embellissante Beauty Oil

Posted : 22nd May 2012

Just in time for their 150 anniversary, Roger & Gallet created the Fleur D’Osmanthus Embellissante Beauty Oil* to join my favorite Osmanthus range.

I just adore this scent! This is my second bottle of fragrance and think i already re-purchased three times the shower gel. Love the light citrusy-floral scent, its so unique and uplifting, apparently it has stress reduction properties so no wonder i drain myself in it.

Was very pleased when i read the ingredients to notice that there is no silicone amongst them. I’m a silicone lover as the next person, but for a touch up, multipurpose product i would prefer to be pure and naturally hydrating.

With three precious oils: apricot kernel oil, sesame oil and sweet almond oil it makes a perfect product for skin and hair.

I haven’t used it on my face yet, but sparingly sprayed it all over the chest, arms and legs after the shower. Because it is a dry oil, it gets absorbed in seconds leaving a dewy, radiant, perfumed skin behind. I tend to lock it, by putting the matching Fleur D’Osmanthus lotion over it – so the oils can nourish deeply the skin. If you don’t lock the oil, it gets stuck on the top layer of the skin and gets evaporated in a couple of hours. This is a tip for all kinds of oils, learned it from my friend who is a Decleor Specialist.

Also, every night i spray twice in my hands and then moisturize my hair, insisting on the ends. Even himself commented how beautiful my locks are scented. It didn’t leave my hair heavy or oily, i used a tiny bit on wet or dry hair mainly on my ends.

To celebrate the 150 anniversary, Roger & Gallet also put together a beautiful book about all their products and the company’s history. I was so excited to receive this book, eternally grateful to the R&G PR (hi Paula!) as i am a collector of beauty history books. It will look so pretty along side my Lancome and Clarins one!

Such a nice touch to have samples of perfumes at the end of the book, love love love!

The Fleur D’Osmanthus Embelissante Beauty Oil can be found in selected chemists, RRP. €26

Spring/Summer Fragrance Wardrobe

Posted : 7th February 2012

I’m sure it comes to no surprise that im obsessed with fragrance. As weird as it may sound, im a collector of nice perfume bottles and every time i discover a new scent i have to get it. Currently my collection is composed of about 70 (i know!) of divine scents, that i use on rotation depending on the mood or occasion.

Because the sun was shinning today and it felt almost like spring, ive gathered some of my favorite spring/summer scents to show you and until they will invent smellavision, you have to trust my word that they are delicious!

NB. I enjoy light, citrus based scents in the summer time meant to refresh and uplift the senses. Im all for optimist, clean, fresh fragrances.

Lancome O de Lancome, O de Orangerie, Dior J’Adore Legere, D&G Light Blue, Dior Escale aux Marquise

Chanel Chance Eau Tendre, Chanel Chance Eau Fresh

Valentino Valentina, Clarins Eau de Jardines, Gucci Flora

Most of the bottles are new ones, ive re-stocked during the winter sales and some were Christmas gifts (Valentino, Chanel, Dior Marquise). The discounts were really great on the gift sets so its worth to splurge.

Im missing some of my beloved Marc Jacobs scents: Daisy, Daisy Eau So Fresh (have a few drops left) and Oh Lola. Very curious about the new Stella McCartney perfume Lily, it sounds right up my street.

Any other summer scents i should check out?

December Sales – the beauty bit

Posted : 2nd January 2012

Happy New Year lovely people! Hope the New Year found you healthy, happy and safe.

I’m so excited about this year, the last one wasn’t great for me…it seemed i wasted too much time, money and energy on random stuff without focusing on whats important. With this in my mind, I’m planning to do a 2012 resolution post this week, so keep an eye for that.

I haven’t gone mad like other times on the beauty stuff, i received most of my wish list over Christmas so was happy with that.

This is what i’ve bought:

Lush 12 Days of Christmas and Under the Mistletoe gift sets 50% off

I just joined the two sets in the big green box.

These were incredible value, got them both for about 35 euro. I’m storing the lot in the 12 Days of Christmas box, its like my treasure box.

Clarins Complexion Instant Smoothing Essentials 30% off

and my new grown-up scent:

Dior Hypnotic Poison gift set 30% off

Its such a gourmand, sexy, feminine scent…honestly cant get enough.

What have you picked up in the beauty sales?

My signature scent

Posted : 27th October 2011

It is Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf.

If i could have it on tap, drink it and bathe in it every day, i would be the happiest girl in Dublin. To be honest, when i gave a blood sample last week, i was surprised that Flowerbomb didn’t came pouring out. That’s how much i love it.

Of course i own the whole shebang:

From left to right: Luxorious Body Cream, Body Lotion, the Flowerbomb itself EDP and Flowerbomb Intense.

Personally i don’t sense any difference between the original Flowerbomb and the Intense version, supposedly it should last longer then the usual EDP or its meant to be heavier…i just cant tell them apart.

Flowerbomb its the utmost feminine perfume i own – heady, sweet and sexy turn heads every time i wear it.

Top notes: Bergamot and Tea

Middle notes: Jasmine, Freesia and Orchid

Base notes: Centiflora Rose and Patchouli

It is available in gift sets from now forward, its always nice to get some extra bits with your purchase (body lotion and shower gel).

* A more affordable dupe is the new Jimmy Choo perfume, currently waiting for a pretty lady to win it over ArtDonatella’s blog (here).

Summer scents

Posted : 20th July 2010

Most of my memories, good or bad have a scent associated to them. For example Kenzo L`Eau de Ete was my first ever “grown-up” scent, my parents got it for me when i got into high school. Clinique Simply is the fragrance that i was wearing when i met Him three years ago and i still get butterflies in my stomach when i smell Issey Miyake L`Eau D`Issey pour Homme, because this was his scent at that time.

This summer is no exception, every great summer has to have a good scent.

From left to right: Marc Jacobs Daisy, Marc Jacobs Daisy Body Lotion (travel size), Clarins Eau de Jardin, Viktor and Rolf Flower Bomb Intense.

Daisy has become my everyday scent for the past month, layering it on top of Clarins Eau de Jardin. I use the Clarins as a body mist (has essential oils that soften the skin) and then spray Daisy on my pulse points. I love the effect, both scents match very well, releasing distinct notes with my every move.

A staple of mine for evening time has become the Flower Bomb by Viktor and Rolf. Its a very special scent, a lovely floral, sexy and feminine fragrance. Because i wear it for most of my *events* (graduation, birthday etc) i feel very special.

On my current wish list is Armani Acqua di Gioia which is absolutely delicious! Fresh but with sweet notes, casual but distinguished. I can see how this will become my clean every day scent. Roll on pay day!

What is your summer scent?
