Barry M Gelly Nail Polish

Seche Vite and OPI Nail Envy

Barry M Gelly Nail Polish

I must say im not a high street/drugstore fan, im not a snob by any means – i suppose i was just unlucky in my choices. Found myself often spending hundreds in pharmacys on bags of products that just didn’t agree with me/ didn’t work. The best example would be that bathroom cabinet filled to the brim with half used shampoo and cleansers, that would probably end up being more expensive than a trip in Brown Thomas/Selfridges.

Saying that, i found some really affordable gems lately like the Rimmel Apocalips and the newly Barry M Gelly Nail Polishes.

They are blooming fantastic!

The texture is ticker than your normal polish, two coats needed for a fully opaque glossy nail. And have you seen the color choices?! Show stopping brights, right up on my alley. I swear, every time i wear any of the colors someone will comment on how gorgeous they are.

Ive also invested in some OPI Nail Envy that im using as a base coat – didn’t think would be that expensive, i mean €24? It better work wonders. And the cult Seche Vite, which truly changed my life. I was a bit skeptical, but it rocked my manicure world. Painting nails in bed before sleep and waking up with messed up textures are a thing of the past, it dries in seconds leaving the shiniest of gloss.

I decided to keep my little collection (bought in an exciting 3for2 offer in Boots) in a recycled large Yankee Candle jar on my vanity, think is rather chic looking and reminds me to look after my neglected nails not just my face.

If you have any other high street product suggestions let me know, im on a roll now.

NOTD Barry M Nail Paint in Peach Melba

Posted : 21st August 2011

Sweet and short post :) .

I’m working my way to get my nails looking decent again. The following photo will not reflect that though, my nails are still in shambles, I’m in cuticle hell!

Anyway, baby steps…baby steps…

Peach Melba was all over the blogosphere for some time now, i guess im just slow when it comes to nail trends :) . Love the color and how it makes my hands looking tanned in real life.

PS. Any cuticle remedies recommendations? Im using the Sally Hansen cuticle oil and the gel/cream cuticle remover + vitamin nail cream in vain. SOS!

Mini haul: CK makeup brushes, Sally Hansen, Gosh nail polish

Posted : 20th September 2010

Hi guys, here i am with a mini over-the-weekend haul. On Saturday i felt an *urge* to buy something nice for myself, but due to lack of funds (roll on pay day) i went for cosmetics, looking for something cheep and cheerful.

I found some great Calvin Klein makeup brushes, priced under 5 euro so how could i resist a bargain like that?!? The quality is great, they feel extremely soft and expensive. I went for the powder brush, cheek brush and three eyeshadow brushes.

I felt a bit confused though by the eyeshadow brushes, in the sense that on the box it seems to be three different ones: contouring, shading&blending and all over. When you study them closely, they look very alike same flat shape but in a different size. The margin ones look a bit rounder in the photo, they are not like this in real life.

Anyway, i only paid 3,99 euro or something like this for them so cant really complain.

Next, i got some nail products: Sally Hansen Nourishing Cuticle Remover and Multi-Vitamin Nail&Cuticle Cream.

My hands are in a state lately, they feel dry and my nails are quite fragile. I’m sure its a lack of something and i should address it internally, but in the mean time i will give them a quick fix. Also they were only 1,99 euro each (old packaging or discontinued).

Last, but not least i got two nail polishes from Gosh’s new autumn collection.

I am impressed with the quality of them, haven’t tried any of the Gosh nail polishes until now. Had Miss Mole (lovely muddy/taupe color) on my hands for about a week, without getting it chipped. The pigmentation its good, i feel with two coats I’m set. Also they were on offer, two for 12 euro.
