A summer haul

Summer Clothes Haul IMG_7849 IMG_7855

Zara shorts (new), Stradivarius tank tops (new), Converse white, Accessorize necklaces (old).

I was looking for a nice pair of shorts for weeks. Initially wanted distressed denim, but all i could find was bum skimming, cheek showing and ridiculous high waisted. Pretty models with embroidery on the hangers, were showing way too much flesh that i would like to show. First sign of getting old…

On a whim, i entered Zara this afternoon and found these soft, baby blue shorts that are short enough to make me look taller and lengthy enough to cover my eclair eating sins. They come in beige and pink as well, if i remember correctly and cost €29.95.

Next, i needed some new holiday tank tops to go with my new shorts. Was looking for plain yellow and white and after a couple of trials i ended up in Stradivarius. For only €4.99 each, i knew i cant go wrong. I will accessorize them with some necklaces i have already, im going for long colorful beads to break the minimalistic look.

And because i will be trotting around town on my holiday, i finally got myself a pair of plain white Converse to keep my comfortable. These were from Office and were €53.

Sunday Outfit

Posted : 19th May 2013

This weekend wasn’t half bad. While on Saturday i was still feverish and glued to my couch, cursing the horrible irish weather and making emigration vows, on Sunday the sun came out and we were able to have a nice relaxing walk into town and enjoying brunch.

For my makeup i fancied pinks to perk up my pale skin – used a combination of Mac Satin Taupe and Cranberry on a base of Dior Nude foundation. Went a bit matchy matchy with pink Apocalips Celestial on my lips and layers of Dior Pink Glow blush to make me look fresh.

Blow dried my hair and just sprayed some Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray to get rid of that ‘just washed’ feeling of softness and inject some volume into it.

For my outfit, went with a casual soft blazer, skinny jeans and a slouchy grey t-shirt. And of course  my Zara necklace, i love it so much i would wear it every day.

Looking back at the photos, perhaps should’ve went with a different top as this one looks a bit too long and frumpy. Initially i got it to tuck it in a skirt, but today i wanted a bit of room for movement.

Hope you had a nice weekend xo.

Im in Sligo for the weekend and couldn’t help myself not post some photos before i head out for dinner and drinks. Had the most amazing weather, the sun was shinning and spent some well deserved quality time with all my close friends. Life is so good when you have your friends close!

Hope everybody is having a good weekend, beauty posting will be back next week; loads of cheeky beauty buys were made today.

Long Weekend

Zara coat (old), PullandBear sweatshirt (link!), Penneys jogging trousers (this season), PullandBear plimsolls (link!), Zara bag (old), H&M beanie, ZeroUV sunglasses.

Was thinking to name this post ‘Spring Outfit’, but besides the date in the calendar there is nothing spring about my day to day clothes. Im still in my winter attire: coat, scarf and beanie sometimes swapping my boots for more casual shoes.

Lately i have been shopping in PullandBear, found some very nice affordable basics for day to day casual. Im enjoying their sweatshirts and casual tops for weekend, they feel light but still add the warmth and comfort that i need. Most of them are about €25 so quite good for sprucing up the wardrobe. Also Pennyes have brought out the most comfortable and soft working out range, i may not be exercising but i sure am living day and night in it.

If you are following me on twitter or instagram, you probably heard i tried to do the Juice Master to detox and clean up my diet. It all went smoothly for the first two days, and by smoothly i mean i turned in a hungry crazed antichrist with more mood swings than the irish weather. Maybe ill leave the crash diets when im home alone/the boy is out of town to avoid collateral damages. Think Hulk people.

I know myself that more sensible changes in my diet, like swapping a morning time eclair filled breakfast with a more nourishing meal it will make all the difference and maybe trying to shake off some moves in the gym will tone up those bingo wings. But i like it fast and furious, i still go for the crash/detox type…eat cabbage all week and you will look like Gisele. And funny enough i decide to do the crash diet after a copious meal, with my belly filled of goodness…of course ill survive on celery sticks!

Do you go for the fast approach when it comes to your bikini body? Or are you wise and sensible to eat well and exercise?

Maybe ill join the gym from tomorrow, but first a spoon of Nuttella :) .

Just Do It!

One of my resolutions for this year is: Just Do It! Say Yes more, don’t judge, just try. Never look back, no regrets. This is how i live my life. If something doesn’t work and cant be fixed, let go. Move on.

You want that toned body? Work out, diet and be healthy. Unhappy in your life? Change it. You are not a tree, you are an amazing person who can do whatever puts their mind too. Dream and achieve, live in the present and project your future.

H&M cream leather sleeves parka, Pull&Bear Love Sweatshirt – very Zoe Karssen style isnt it? Still gutted i missed the ‘Creme de la creme’ one.

Nike Just Do It

New Nike trainers courtesy of XLS Medical. So comfy, feels like im walking on pillows! Perfect for my Sunday long walks. Oh, and for silly jumping in the park too.

Very intrigued about the new XLS Slimming tablets too, any users out there? Im joining the gym in a week and need all the help i can get for my summer body.

Carpe diem loves! xo

New in my Closet

Posted : 8th November 2012

Zara Studded Ankle Strap Sandals (here)

Although im in a desperate need of new boots for winter, i choose to spend my money on a pair of studded sandals instead. Of course, what else would i need when its freezing cold outside and its almost time for a good ol’ snow. Cant even say that they are that comfortable, but hey ho they are beautiful and spiked and they will go with everything. I love to pair them with very skinny jeans and basic tees and a flash of red nail polish.

Zara Basic Ankle Strap heels (here).

The kitten heel is back! And its sporting another ankle strap. This pair was an investment, so comfortable that im going to pick up the red and purple pair too. Looks awesome with cropped (ankle length) trousers and of course with skirts and dresses. Very office appropriate, high enough to elongate the legs without killing you with pain.

Military Style

Posted : 26th October 2012

As per usual, Zara managed to lure me inside and make me buy this gorgeous winter coat. Long enough to cover everything important, fitted, soft and elegant its everything i wanted for an everyday home to work coat.

At first though, i went to get the very fashionable black coat with the leather collar that is everywhere on blogs (seen it here first on StyleScrapbook) but it didn’t seem practical at all. When closed, all the fabulosness was gone and it make me look bulky and a bit square.

I also loved the look of these two, cosy with an edge…swoon! I want them all. Still i haven’t got anything in my wardrobe remotely close to studs and faux leather, or peplum on that matter.

Have you got your winter essentials sorted? xo

Sponsored Post: Favorite Ray Ban Sunglasses

Posted : 24th October 2012

Although i don’t suit sunglasses or eye wear very well, i keep persevering and get different shapes and brands in the hope i will look remotely ok. Since i was little, i was always attracted to glasses for reading or not to the extent of creating ‘eye problems’ so my parents would get me a pair. My silly childish desires were unmasked when tested, as the doc said i have the eyesight of an eagle and it remained like this. There’s hoping for when im old and grey.

My favorite brand is by far Ray Ban, with their cool understated shapes its bound to find something to suit any face and lifestyle. Of course i went for the Wayfarer and Aviator style, so comfortable and suit my face better than others.

For next summer i would love a pair of blingy gold mirrored RayBan Aviators and a sophisticated tortoise Prada pair, in the ‘it’ frame of this year:

RayBan Aviators on sale here. Prada Sunglasses Baroque on sale here.

Also, as an obsessive freak that i am, i like to browse from time to time glasses online just to look at frames and new styles. Currently im all over the geek chic, want to wear these babies everyday:

Lunch in Malahide

Posted : 17th October 2012

H&M sweater (new), Pull&Bear leather jacket, Michael Kors Bag, Zara jeans.

Being off for a whole week makes me a lady of leisure who lunches or better said brunches, has her hair done and meets friends for coffee. How i love my life this week :) .

We went to Malahide as the sun was shinning and the birds were singing, to have a change of scenery and enjoy some fresh sea air. We had lunch in Mc Governs – honestly the best food ever at amazing prices. No, i don’t work or get endorsed by them, just had the best fish and chips. Oh and the cheesecake…hmm still dream about it.

As for the dressing code, kept it really laid back and casual. I’m a no fuss kinda a girl when im off, so went for my new H&M sweater (soft, slouchy and doesn’t leave any fabric behind!), jeans and leather jacket. Im no fashion icon, just a normal girl after all :) .

So excited about tomorrows activities, getting my hair cut finally! No more Rapunzel in the wind style shots.

Bisous!

Autumn Break

Sweater H&M, Shirt and jeans Zara, Loafers River Island

Nothing screams more ‘holiday mode’ than a bright coral sweater to wear out with casual jeans and loafers. Got this baby in H&M last week, very impressed with the selection of colors and most of all the affordable price (€19.99). Ive managed to go passed my vanity impulse to get a size small and decided to go for a medium, adds more comfort and i kinda like the slouchy easy going look that provides.

One thing i dislike about it: leaves tiny annoying red fabric traces everywhere so i need to be careful with what i pare it. Jeans ok, black leggins not ok.
