Vichy Aminexil Pro Treatment and Shampoo: Before/After Photos and Results

Posted : 6th March 2013

Vichy Aminexil Pro Treatment

Vichy Aminexil Pro Treatment

A month and a half ago i found out that my alopecia areata is back with a vengeance. I noticed before that my hair was shedding more than usual, but i thought its normal, winter and cold can have this effect.  Only for when drying my hair upside down one evening, Ony noticed a bald patch on the back of my head. Sigh.

So here i am, trying to fight this and get healthy again. Cue the Vichy Aminexil Pro Treatment and Shampoo.

Dercos Aminexil Pro is an intensive treatment which its meant to be used in two phases: one for attack – 1 monodose a day, massaged onto the scalp for 6 weeks and then a maintenance phase – 1 monodose every other day. Each monodose contains a cocktail of Arginine to stimulate microcirculation, Aminexil for hair loss reduction, SP94 for hair nourishment and PP&B6 vitamins.

Ive been diligently massaging the treatment every night for the last 12 days and using the matching Dercos Energizing Shampoo and while of course, no major results have shown, i can give some initial feedback on the product:

  • it doesn’t leave any residue on the hair or scalp, it can be easily used on dry hair without weighting down.
  • the smell is non offensive and wont interfere with your other products
  • it kinda dries out the scalp, maybe because i used it in conjunction with the Energising shampoo. Im getting once a week a coconut scalp mask and using the Ojon oil (the one in the pot) to help against the dryness.

Its very easy to use and not messy, i comb my hair using the Tangle teezer and then part and dispense the product. Dispense and massage, repeat, of course insisting on the trouble areas.

Im also pumping vitamins and minerals like there’s no tomorrow (silica, b complex, multivit, fish oil), with only 15 weeks until the Big Day i hope it wont get worse. Im desperately trying to change my diet too, incorporating anti-inflamatory foods and reducing the junk. Im not going to go for cortisone shots or Rogaine unless things are getting desperate.

Must not stress, must not stress…

If you got any other product recommendations or tips on how to overcome this let me know please, need all the help i can get.

PS. I will update this post after the recommended 6 weeks. I got the promotional pack with extra 6 monodoses (18 in total) for €41 (usual 12 for €41) and the shampoo €10.50.

UPDATE

Although its a sensitive issue for me, ive decided to insert some before and after pictures. When im looking up reviews online its always more helpful if i see some proving pictures of the products. My little patch was hidden in the back of my head, on a day to day basis you cant see anything and im not forced to make any adjustments to my hairstyle to hide it. Im aware it could be a lot worse.

Although my hair is still shedding and looks thinner than im used too, there is most definite some regrow. My scalp and hair is still feeling dry, but im decided to keep going and upped my game today with some supplements from Holland and Barrett.

If you want me to do more updates on this matter let me know.

Happy New Year! Hope 2013 has found you all happy, healthy and safe, ready for new adventures.

The New Year celebration has always been special for me, not only because its near my birthday (3rd of Jan) but mainly because it gives me the opportunity to reflect on what ive learned in the past year, draw conclusions and make room for change. Hence it triggers de-cluttering of the house and personal stuff, goal settings and positive resolutions.

Which brings me to one of my biggest wishes since i was a little girl: to have my dream dressing table and a whole room to myself where i can be surrounded by all the beautiful things i need in my life. Shallow as it might sound, i have this hunger for beautiful spaces and material things and for me (and my fiancee) its very important to live in a nice, cosy home. Because we have been renting all our adult life, we avoided gathering too many pieces of furniture or house decorations as we would end up moving anyway.

This birthday though Ony surprised me and got me my fairytale dressing table and helped arranging my girly room. Honestly, i am the luckiest girl alive! Its still a work in progress, but i couldn’t be happier of how my room turned up.

One week until the holiday!

Posted : 27th July 2012

Just one week left until my holiday, such a great feeling! I’m literally crossing the days off until we will be off to Egypt for loads of sun, sea and fun.

So sorry for not posting in a while and slipping a bit with my blogging, but life got a bit in the way of my blogging. No bad news, just being a busy bee and procrastinating with writing. Have loads of ideas and new stuff to share with you, so fear not ill be back in the swing of things in no time.

I’m so excited about my holiday, got some very cute stuff in the sales that i cant wait to wear. Luckily the weather was rather spectacular here in Dublin, so i could wear pretty summery clothes.

For the last few weeks i was prepping myself to show off so skin, eat a bit more healthy and exercised more, used some of my cellulite creams and brushed away my body every day.

I got some of the CLA 24/7 tablets to boost my weight loss, i reach for them when i want to tone up a bit. I have been using them on and off for the last few years and from my experience i can totally say that they are great for toning and help to see faster changes in your body when you work out.

The Somatoline night gel is amazing as well, picked it last year from Barcelona and only cracked it open last month. It helps to drain the fluid from the tissues and makes your appearance to look leaner and flatter (tummy area in particular). In the morning time i use the Keraskin gel, gratefully received from ArtDonatella last year. Like everything else, if you stick to your routine and are a bit sensible with the diet you will see the desired results.

I only need some new books for my Kindle and im ready to go, can you suggest some titles for me? xo

New stuff from Sligo and loads of photos

Posted : 18th March 2012

For the St. Patrick’s celebrations we went to Sligo to visit our good friends. God, i miss it so much! The air, the people and the surroundings…spent the best 4 years of my life there.

Did a bit of spot shopping, ventured over in Vila in Johnson’s Court and the Shoe Rack. I must say, had the best customer service in Vila, the girls couldn’t be nicer spent ages with me helping me out finding nice clothes.

Stripe wedges from the Shoe Rack €30

Flower wedges from the Shoe Rack €35

Striped T-Shirt from Vila

Vila navy linen blazer, ive teamed it up with the t-shirt and rocked the nautical look :D .

Pieces Leggins from Vila, they were on sale €12.95. Love how they have a denim texture and fit perfectly on the leg. The elasticated band on top makes them uber comfortable, i tend to wear them when im going out for a big dinner.

Love the blue ones, they are a great for summer (they are a more deep blue in real life). I know the photo doesn’t look very flattering, but trust me and try some on, they are amazing!

We wake up to these views, my friend was very kind to shelter us.

Hope you had a great St. Patrick’s day!

Barcelona

Posted : 3rd June 2011

Probably i bored to death everybody on Twitter about my holiday in Barcelona, but i cant help it. I just get so excited about going away and holidays in general, that i have to shout to the world a million times a day.

I’ve taken a hundreds of photos of everything, so i will just share some of the highlights with you here.  We walked everywhere, visited the Sagrada Familia, spent every night on Las Ramblas, shopped till i dropped in Catalonia Square, went for a swim on Barcelonetta beach, went for a stroll in Park Guell and many, many more.

All the photos posted were taken with the Iphone 4 and edited with the Instagram App. You can follow me if you wish on Istagram, i love to browse and see pretty pictures.

We stayed very near of the Sagrada Familia, in the Aranea Hotel. We cant recommend it enough, it was excellent!

If only the next 8 weeks will fly until the next holiday….

What I’ve been up to lately, highlights of February

Posted : 7th March 2011

Although i had a February favorites post, i feel the need to give more love to the month that just passed. Its safe to say that i had a fantastic time, finally adjusted perfectly to the new work environment thanks to some very nice co-workers and started to discover bit by bit the wonders of Dublin.

Still have a huge list of activities to tick off (yes im a nerd :D ), but I’m taking my time…want to keep this holiday feeling as long as i can. Also have discovered City Deals and Living Social discount websites, how cool are they! Got a great deal on a laser whitening treatment at White Smile Clinic, only 89 euro down from 280. Have my appointment booked in two weeks, very excited to have it done.

For the first two weeks of Feb, the weather was mainly gloomy so not many snaps of the outdoors. Enjoy my highlights!

Spring finally arrived!!! St. Stephen Green Park

Cup of tea, anyone? At the Leprechaun Museum in Dublin.

Pretty notebooks from Arnotts, for my list making compulsion :)

Getting ready for summer! Cute sandals from H&M

Until i save up for my Mulberry Bag, this River Island satchel fills that void. For spring, it comes in blue suede too…must be mine!

Also had the most beautiful ice cream swirl in Jervis Shopping center, oh my god its just heaven! They mix vanilla and truffle HB ice cream with morello cherrys, kiwi, strawberry and flakes of white and dark chocolate…major drool.

Hope you guys had a great month as well, fingers crossed for a fabulous March!
