What’s on my bedside table

Posted : 29th June 2011

I am one of those girls who love their evening cleansing and moisturizing rituals. Nothing is more relaxing for me then to take off the slap, have a hot shower and wear my most comfy pajama.

Usually all my beauty treatments are taking place in bed, while watching a movie or a TV show. Then i start using my night moisturizer and eye cream, use a body butter on my legs and arms, slap on the eyelash treatment, massage my legs to prevent varicose veins, use a heel cream (just in case, hate unkempt feet), hand moisturizer (wash and sanitize my hands a lot) and finally the lip balm.

Phew! Quite a lot, but love every minute of it :)

Have a look at my night time box:

and in detail:

From Left to Right:

Compeed Overnight Craked Heel Repair - hmm…not mad over it. Yes, you can see a difference in the morning after using it, it makes the feet smooth and the whole heel appearance better looking. But, and there is a big BUT: my soles are incredibly itchy since i started using it and during the day, i find that it gets rubbed off – like is just a superficial layer and it comes off. Its very annoying, looks like dirt.

Dr Organic Royal Jelly Leg and Vein Cream – talked about it here.

The Body Shop Body Butter in Brazil Nut and Satsuma – talked about them here. Yes, still have loads left i only use them on my arms and legs. Stopped applying on my decolletage as it brakes me out.

Mavala Double Lash – this is a recent purchase, got it two weeks ago and use it alternatively with the Loreal Lash Serum. Too early to pronounce myself if its good or not, so far it doesn’t leave a sticky residue in the morning like the Loreal one and didn’t irritate my eyes.

Lancome Secret de Vie moisturizer and eye cream. This is very similar to the famous Creme de la Mer, is based on marine extracts taken from the deepest and purest sea waters. Secret de Vie is meant to be used just once a year as a complete regeneration treatment, preferably in the spring time or autumn. The cream is meant to stimulate your skin to auto-heel itself at maximum capacity, restores radiance and of course – firms and softens the fine lines.

I use the eye cream every night since February and i only used about half of the jar, the texture is just so special that you only need a pea size to do both eyes. The moisturizer itself i use it maybe 4 nights out of 7, alternating it with the La Roche Posay Effaclar K.

Result wise, i cant pronounce myself in terms of wrinkles and firmness (im only 27) but i can definitely see a difference in the texture of my skin and overall appearance. It just looks more luminous in the morning and what i noticed most, it heals much faster. If i have an irritation or a little scar, it heals faster then usual.

Loreal Lash Serum – i have been using it since launch last year, i can see an improvement in the condition of my lashes. While it didn’t make them grow faster or longer, my lashes look very conditioned and healthier. Its like they are better nourished and shinier.

La Roche Posay Effaclar K – my HG product, enough said. You can read about it here.

Sally Hansen Cuticle Cream – i suffer with very dry cuticles and this seems to help keep them under control. Also the vitamin content strengths the nail, so all good.

Avene Hand Cream – still love it, talked about it here.

Carmex original lip balm – wake up to super soft kissable, lips in the morning.

And my favorite hand mirror, got it in Paris four years ago. I still keep it in the velvet pouch, i treasure it too much.

Oh and a tweezer :D

I think this could be cool as a Tag, what do you think? Or is it just me who hoard products on my bedside table?

Love and kisses

The Liebster Blog Award

Posted : 10th May 2011

The Liebster Award is designed to bring well deserved additional recognition to those bloggers with less than 300 followers.  If you receive the award you link back to the blogger had nominated you and nominate 3 more blogs.

I’ve been chosen for the Liebster Blog Award by the lovely girl behind Beauty, life and thinks i like, with whom i share a very healthy love for pretty notebooks :) . I was very nicely surprised that she choose me, im chuffed every time i get a new follower or get a comment on my blog, not to mention a blog award/tag.

What can i say, little things make my day.

Beauty, life and thinks i like is a brand spanking new beauty blog, with regular posts and like ArtDonatella said, with a down to earth approach. I love that if i leave a comment i get an answer back and how she appreciates her readers. A truly lovely blog, check it out.

I would like to nominate the following amazing girls (no particular order):

1.  Dee from Dee-lightfulthoughts

Dee just started her blog this week and i am very glad she did. Her blog its a mix of personal thoughts and opinions, book reviews and im sure soon, beauty products. Dee its an amazing carrying lady, she even took the time to email me tips on how to use ColorB4 and showed me photos of the different stages. How not to love her? x

2. Sunshine Rose

Discovered her blog recently and for sure she deserves more love. Really enjoy her monthly favorites and hauls, also she posts pretty often (not like yours truly) and always reply’s to comments. You will find detailed reviews, swatches and much more <3

What i like about Laura’s blog is that is written with passion for beauty and she genuinely gets excited about what she blogs.

My first Tag: 11 Most Reached For Products

Posted : 12th April 2011

Yay, I got tagged lol! Thanks to ever so lovely ArtDonatella i got my first tag: 11 most reached for products.

Lets begin, shall we:

1. Cleansers

From left to right: Lancome Tonique Eclat (clarifying toner with alcohol), Lancome Galacteis Douceur Cleansing Milk, Lancome Cleansing Water

For the last three years i only use Lancome cleansers, they suit my skin perfectly. Recently i switch from my usual Tonique Douceur (alcohol free soothing toner) to Tonique Eclat, in a desperate try to sort out my oily combination skin and enlarged pores. So far so good.

If I’m on a budget i go for the Vichy ones: 3 in 1 cleansing milk and Oligo 25 Cleansing Foam. Also one of my most reached cleansers is the Lancome Bifacil eye makeup remover, love it to bits! *i would’ve included them all in the photo, but I’m allowed only 11 products*

More reviews on them here and here.

 2. Moisturiser

I’ve talked and talked about this treatment plenty of times, it sorted out my skin imperfections after desperately trying loads of products. I make sure there’s one in my press at all times, just in case my skin decides to rebel.

More on Effaclar K here.

3. Nail Polishes

Rimmel makes the most amazing nail polishes ever! Wonderful wide selection of shades, cheap as chips and great wide brushes for perfect applications. My most used shades ever are Coral Romance and Pop Rose.

As a base, i allways go for the Sally Hansen Nail Grow Miracle it really made a difference to my weak nails.

Swatches of Pop Rose here .

3. Makeup

From left to right: Vichy Aerateint in shade 35, Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, Urban Decay Blush in Score and Smashbox Brow Tech in Taupe.

And surprise, surprise my most reached eyeshadow palette:

Although i have tons of makeup (according to my fiancee), everyday i reach for the above makeup products. I don’t use the Aerateint foundation everyday, but i do keep a spare one for days when I’m not happy with my skin. It just manages to balance the whole look.

More reviews here, here and here.

I tag everybody!!!
