My Skin Savior: La Roche Posay Effaclar K Renewal Fluid

As you probably noticed from my posts, i like a few skincare brands and i tend to stick to them when making any purchases. When it comes to my routine, i like to diversify but to a certain extent. This means i will gladly try anti-aging serums, moisturisers, masks etc from various brands, while remaining loyal to the products that proved to work for me.

That said, i feel the need to share my Holy Grail skincare product with you: La Roche Posay Effaclar K.

This is the very first product i ever tried from La Roche Posay, almost three years ago.

For almost all my teen years i felt very unhappy with my skin’s texture, aldo i didn’t have major problems with spots (it was just the occasional white head) my skin felt irregular and uneven. The foundation would sit on the skin and just accentuate the little bumps in the light.

Uneven skin tone is very hard to treat, its not acnee so spot creams will just dry up every inch of your face and normal moisturisers will just add to the build up. Oh the joys of being young!

Effaclar K is a daily renewal fluid for oily skin with imperfections (i love that word!). It corrects and progressively transforms the skin’s surface through micro-exfoliation. LHA, an active keratolytic ingredient, permeates  the skin to perform a precis, targeted micro-exfoliation, without irritation.

The skin’s surface is smoothed, the imperfections diminished and the pores cleansed and tighter. The skin is finer, cleaner and softer.” (source La Roche Posay packaging).

In a matter of two weeks my skin had cleared up, no more bumps or imperfections… i was astonished by the results. In time, i customized the use of the fluid for a better action: I use it as a serum, underneath my moisturiser. Due to the light texture, it just works brilliant – Effaclar K will treat the imperfections, while the moisturiser will target hydration/prevent lines. Also it doesnt dry out the skin, has a fresh smell and it is very light. At times i can get a tingly feeling, its just micro-abrazion agent doing his job.

I honestly recommend this product to anybody with imperfections/bumps, it does exactly what it says on the packaging.

    Hey Andreea,
Congrats on the site, i have just discovered it, with regards to La Roche Posay Effaclar, is it suitable for any skin type. I also have those lumps and bumps but have quite dry t-zone.

    Hi Louise,

Thank you for your nice comment :).

I have combination skin, oily t-zone with dry cheeks. What i would suggest is to use the Effaclar K underneath your normal moisturiser, that way you even out the skin tone and moisturise at the same time. Make sure you ask for a sample first, give it a go for a few days and see how you feel regarding the dryness.

At the moment i am testing Vichy Normaderm Tri-Active, seems more hydrating then Effaclar, love it!

    Hello Isa,

I dont think they have changed the packaging to be honest, they brought a new one out Effaclar Duo im not sure if you got that one by mistake. Also there is a promo at the moment with the Effaclar range, you get a mini cleansing gel, maybe it was that?

Was the writting/name/claims changed on the package? If not, you got the right stuff :). Let me know.

I dont know the texture of the Lacura serum, but if its moisturising i wouldnt use it with Effaclar K (astringent and matyfing).

Use the Effaclar on its own at night time and apply maybe on top some hydrating moisturiser (just on the cheek area if its dry). xxx
