Tried and Tested: Hydration Boosting Masks

Hydrating Masks IMG_8974 IMG_8979 I’m sure i am not alone in saying that summer has left our skin parched and dehydrated, specially now with the sudden change in temperature. Because its not cold enough to whip out the heavy duty face oils and intensive creams, im treating my face to a drink of mineral spa water and a hydrating mask.

For a quick injection of moisture after maybe a long day in air conditioned environment, heavy coffee drinking and stressful meetings i reach for either the Lancome Hydra Intense Gel Mask or the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Night Spa*. Both are very light, refreshing and the cooling gel texture means they will be fast absorbed into the skin. Whilst the Lancome Hydra Intense is meant to be tissued off after 15min, the Vichy Night Spa can be left on over night for a long lasting effect.

If the skin is in need of a proper facial, either the La Roche Posay Hydraphase Intense Mask* or the Origins Drink Up Intensive should be enough to plump up and replenish fatigued complexions. The texture is richer, creamier which means it will leave a layer of moisture on the surface of the skin until removed. The Origins Drink Up Intensive has a cult status, left overnight it restores the skin’s water reservoirs and smooth out any fine lines. For the sensitive skins, the La Roche Posay Intense Mask rich in thermal water will soothe and is effective to calm down any redness caused by dryness.
