January Favorites YourBeauty.ie

Although im slightly late with my monthly favorites, i promised myself ill try to have a post up for each month of the year. Better late than never, huh?

In January i played a lot with some of my recent purchases, which meant another full month filled with neutral eye shadows – Urban Decay Basics and Clinique Neutral Territory 2. Will i ever get tired of muted taupe’s and browns? Probably not. The Mac 217 blending eyeshadow brush made the whole process even more enjoyable, it deserves the hyped status and 100th times more – packs pigment like no other, whilst creating an effortless cut crease. I need at least another five of them asap.

Skincare wise, my love affair with Clinique Repairwear Serum continues with a third bottle being purchased – amazing, amazing, amazing! My skin has never felt softer, fine lines are diminished and skin texture refined. Haven’t read anything on the blogoshphere about it yet, any other fans out there?

The Vichy Normaderm Spot Healer*has become a staple in our household, both myself and the husband are regularly relying on its miracle properties. Its not your typical astringent/stingy spot treatment – quite the opposite. With a bandage effect, it soothes, deflates and minimizes any bumps being suitable for even sensitive skin. In two hours the pesky monsters are visibly diminished, everybody should have one for emergencies.

I seem to reach for the Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser every spring, probably because my skin is becoming dryer during the winter and needs an injection of moisture. Glides seamlessly on the skin, whilst maintaining a good medium coverage and dewy finish. I tend to use my fingers when i apply it, it just melts into the skin.

The Lancome Trio Blusher was part of their beauty box offer back in November – love all the three shades to bits. The bronzer is neutral, matte and light enough to delicately contour my face, the coral blush is right up my street and the champagne highlighter shimmers on top of the cheekbones. Ideal for traveling, you have your cheek essentials in one nifty little palette.

Lastly, the Boots Botanics Ultra Calm Cleanser came as an impromptu purchase before payday, when i was living on chips and beans and needed a cheap and cheerful cleanser. Surprisingly is really good! Super soothing and gentle, i find it very efficient in taking off my slap of makeup and leaving my dehydrated skin supple and comfortable. Did i mention i only payed about €6? There is a brightening and softening version as well.

I have to ask, aren’t you too young to be using the repairwear serum? Or is that just a testimony to its effectiveness? :p

@Siri Well i am 30 years old, so i can legitimately use anti age serums :). Although in my opinion, is never too early to start. I mean a product cant transform you into a 10 year old, so worst case scenario you dont see any results.

Then it must be a testimony to great genes and good skincare, because your skin doesn’t look it 😉

I love neutral shadows too! I’m with you 100% on the Vichy Normaderm treatment, the stuff is amazing, we’re big fans of it here! I haven’t bought a MAC brush since the time I found my husband using my 249 to touch up some paint on the car, I couldn’t bring myself to spend that much on a brush after! It’s great to get recommendations on different types of brushes, though. I’ll keep an eye out for a dupe! Thank you for the heads up on the cleanser too x
