I like to get new candles once it starts getting to autumn, ones that smell more wintry rather than the vanilla/cherry ones for summer! i usually get new table runners and dining seat cushions once it gets autumnal too. x

I take down all the curtains in the summer & wash & iron them. Then as soon as the evenings start to close in up they go again! They are mostly dark colours of aubergine/plum/navy except my room which has orange/terracotta/pumpkin coloured drapes. I like the feeling of open space & light when the weather’s good and then when they’re up, the house feels all snug & cosy!

I try and catch up on any painting jobs, so it looks nice and fresh for Christmas. And as the weather gets cooler we get out the blankets and candles.
