The Hair Care Novelty: New Joico Co-Wash Moisture Whipped Cleansing Conditioner

Irish beauty blogger IMG_1979 Irish Blog Co-washing is the latest trend in hair care, ok maybe a few years old now but still a novelty. I remember seeing an Ojon cleansing conditioner doing all the blog rounds and wandering whats all the fuss about.

If you’re not sure what co-washing is: its using a sulfate free cleansing conditioner instead of the traditional shampoo and conditioner wash. So if you like, a 2 in 1 product that doesn’t really foam, leaves the hair clean and not striped, doesn’t weigh down the strands and enhances the natural curl of your hair, if let air dry. A traveler’s wonder product!

I’ve been sent out the new JOICO Co Wash Moisture Cleansing Conditioner to try out and review, not only a trendy product but a novelty being a cleansing nourishing foam. I never washed my hair with a foam, never mind a conditioner.

Firstly i was skeptical that it wont be hydrating enough for my over bleached, processed hair. My hair can get so dehydrated and tangled that im afraid to try anything new on it. After about five hair washes i can honestly assure you that’s not the case. This foam doesn’t only cleanse my hair, but leaves it SUPER moisturized. I mean a touch of Moroccan Oil on the ends and my L’oreal Heat Protection Spray and im good to go for a long lasting blow dry. My hair brush goes trough my hair without problems, which is my main issue when it comes to my hair.

Secondly, being a moisturizing cleansing conditioner i was afraid that it will weigh down my fine hair and i will be having a second day greasy mop. Again, this wasn’t the case at all. Being sulfate free means the color is preserved better and the hair is not weight down. I can still get about three days out of a blow dry, which is my usual washing routine.

All in all i declare myself converted, the can is super practical for traveling as its a 2in1 product and you only need a pea size amount to do your whole head. One bottle should do you for about 25 washes which for the €19 price is pretty good. Also available in Color Co Wash – meant to preserve the intensity of your color and Curl Co-Wash for defined, bouncy curly hair.

Have you tried co-washing before?

Wow, sounds amazing for me! Thank you for the tips. I have tried the normal co-washing with the regular conditioner(silicones free) and I love it.

I usually don’t get along with sulfate free, my scalp is itching and my hair gets super tangled. This one though i like because is quite moisturizing.
