No clothing store in the world has the power to lift my spirit and make me want every single garment like Zara can do. My husband is still surprised i haven’t insisted on naming the baby after them, as my love is so strong.
I didn’t plan on buying anything, every week or so i go in and stroke the pretty clothes like a weirdo and make mental notes of what to get when ill be skinnier/ richer/ have somewhere to go. Except this weekend i caught a glimpse of the way i looked in the mirror – same black, almost grey from washing, faded Ridley jeans that have two stains that i cant lift and a grey top. I looked frumpy and tired, which i was after a few weeks of baby tantrums, tummy bugs and flu. So i decided to get just one new pair of jeans – which turned out in two pairs, a faux leather jacket and a backpack. Because YOLO and my husband is the biggest enabler ever.
The Skinny Jeans were something i was thinking to get for a long time, they are just that bit different with the ripped knee and paint drops – just perfect to disguise the random baby food stains. They are mid rise and perfect length for my 5ft3 height. I wish i got the size 40 (uk 10) instead of 42 (uk 12) as they feel a bit loose in parts, nothing a belt cant fix.
The olive faux leather jacket was an absolute steal at €26! I had to take a double look just to make sure im seeing it right. Its perfectly fitted, so soft and the bicker cut gives it a cooler vibe. Im going to get a lot of wear out of it for sure.
Ah the Zara Backpacks, i have three in my collection already! For the last two years i have favored backpacks instead of bags, with a baby i love having my arms free and i can cram in everything and the kitchen sink without breaking in my shoulders. My posture is improved, back pain gone and they look awesome too.
My autumn/winter wardrobe is almost complete i only need a few tops and jumpers and maybe a new pair of boots. Roll on payday and winter sales!
