Dyson V11 Absolute Cordless Vacuum Review
I know what you are thinking. She can’t possibly be doing a post about hoovering. Well i have to say that when the DHL man brought the new Dyson V11 Absolute Vacuum i jumped up and down like a little girl. I might’ve even gave the poor man a hug. Hand on heart, this was one of the best things that came trough my blog. In all seriousness, cleaning is one of my favorite things to do. I am an emotional cleaner that deals with lifes anxieties by having a focus on something practical. I am far from being a Mrs Hinch, however when im stressed or anxious i like to take my focus on cleaning my home or tiding a drawer. Its the best remedy of making me feel calm. Also i cant do any creative work on the blog if my environment is untidy. Its just how my brain works i suppose.
I was sent the latest Dyson V11 Absolute Vacuum a month ago. I am only putting my review together now as i wanted to really test out the features and make sure i have a proper feel of the device. Its far from being cheap, retailing at €650 its definitely an investment. So its not something that i wanted to declare flippantly that ‘its so amazing guys, you need to buy two’.
What’s Different About the Latest Dyson V11 Absolute Vacuum
Intelligently reports in real time. Monitors system performance 8,000 times a second, then reports in real time on the LCD screen. The on-board screen shows current performance, including selected power mode and remaining run time, giving the user more control of their clean.
I find the LCD screen amazing for estimating the battery life of the vacuum and for changing up trough the Eco, Med, Auto and Boost modes of suction. I found that the Eco mode is perfect for my laminate floors. Med is great when you need a little extra suction, carpets for instance. The Auto mode is for when you want the new head to go automatically from hard floors to carpet and back again. Boost for ground in dirt and spillages.
The right cleaning mode for the right task. Three cleaning modes optimized for a variety of tasks. The right balance of power and run time, where you need it.
Most asked question: what is the battery life like?
I only have to charge the vacuum once a week and i used it sometimes even twice daily. My home has mixture of laminate hard flooring and carpet so i got to try the features troughly. The different suction modes are absolutely brilliant in making a difference on the battery life. In Eco mode the battery can last about an hour of constant use and in Medium about 30 minutes. The time frame doesn’t seem much, however you will never find yourself hoovering for 30 minutes solid. Because its a cordless vacuum, to make it work you need to keep your finger on the power button on the handle so as you move around it only takes a few minutes.
The High Torque cleaner head is Dyson’s most powerful cord-free cleaner head ever. It features stiff nylon bristles that drive deep into carpet to remove ground-in dirt, and anti-static carbon fiber filaments that capture dust from hard floors and crevices. An integrated digital motor spins the brush bar up to 60 times a second.
My carpets haven’t ever looked cleaner! My main challenge when cleaning my carpet areas was always trying to get rid of hair trapped in the fibers. Me and my daughter have long hair and i think we are shedding worse than a fluffy dog. I was amazed how easily it sucked out everything from the surface of the carpets and left them looking fresh.
‘Point and shoot’ hygienic bin emptying. The ‘point and shoot’ mechanism hygienically ejects dust and debris deep into your bin, in one action – so there’s no need to touch the dirt.
Now cleaning is just easy
I am honestly surprised and amazed how a move to a Dyson cordless vacuum has changed our cleaning routine so much for the better. I am saying ours, because my husband has fallen in love with it as much as i did. Cleaning the stairs or the car were always annoying chores. We used to have a plug in hoover that was so heavy and clumsy for those areas, in fact i once dropped it when i was trying to clean my stairs which resulted in a big laminate chip.
Drop-in docking. The Dyson V11™ vacuum drops into the wall-mounted dock, to charge it and tidily store tools. So it’s ready to grab and go.
Now cleaning is just easy. From putting in the different adapter heads, to emptying the vacuum or storing it. We have it hanged on the hot press door so its always withing reach.
Is it worth the splurge? A resounding yes, its such a brilliant vacuum.
