Sophia’s Room Tour

Sophia’s room tour is finally live! Decorating Sophia’s room was something that was very high up on the ‘to do’ list. Every year we added on her furniture units and wooden toys collection, however i felt it was missing a bit of color and sparkle. Her furniture was white, her walls white – basically all a bit bland for a highly imaginative three year old.

First thing i did was to choose some paint colors. After agonizing a few weeks over grey paint swatches, i settled on Dulux Dapper Grey and Delicate Pink. Soft sheen, hard wearing and neutral. I painted her walls myself, it was a labor of love that took three days. Im so proud of the end results, i have to say it looks really good.

Furniture wise its all Ikea, we got most of her pieces two years ago. I updated the knobs on her dresser with some Zara Home ones and it looks really good. I did a big toy clear out, got rid of the little random Kinder egg bits and stuffed toys that she collected from various supermarkets. The thrill of collecting them didn’t translate in actually playing with them, so ill make sure we avoid future promotions.

For storage, i figured out a system that works for us. All her Lego is stored in a baskets that sits in her improvised nightstand cube. It makes it very easy to clean up. Her jigsaw puzzles are underneath the bed in a picnic basket. This way she just knows when its tidy up time where everything goes. The rest of the random toys are stored in four fabric boxes. They are hidden and again, just make tidy up so much easier.

Sophia’s room decor is very affordable. I went for high street shops for some colorful pieces and sourced some lovely prints via Instagram. I will list everything below, hope you will find some gems just like i did.

ALDI SPECIAL BUY TOYS

We are huge fans of the Aldi’s special toy week. Every year we collect a piece for Sophia. I have to say their toys are looking beautiful and they are high quality, made to last. They are available from middle of November, i would definitely check it out.
