My first dabbing into contouring was with the , i remember watching YouTube videos and at the time, it was all the rage to use Hoola to contour your features. It was rightfully hyped: the neutral tones are flattering on everyone, its matte and smells gorgeous. This on top of a super cute packaging and a brush that i actually use to contour my cheeks.
Cue several years later and the range has expanded with – an instant, soft matte liquid bronzer for the face, a that it will forever stay on display (its that pretty!) and a ‘believable’ self tan .
If i would be asked to choose one favorite product from the bunch, it would be . Its such a multipurpose product:
a) you can use it all over the face as a primer – it will give you a lovely glow to your face.
b) mixed up with your foundation to darken it up when you are self tanning and your face looks paler.
c) added on top of your base for a subtle contour.
Another addition is the new – Benefit’s first matte highlighter. Matte highlighter you ask, its a contradiction in itself isnt it? There just isnt a better way to describe it: a soft nude pink, almost matte highlighter. Its the perfect product for when you want a subtle strobe, that lit from within effect. Again, you can mix it up with a touch of foundation to lighten up your base or on top, for a soft sheen. I find it great if you have oily skin with visible pores, its the perfect highlight that wont accentuate imperfections or make you look like a disco ball. Although, disco ball is my favorite look of all times :).
Have you tried the new Benefit Hoola collection? Its so pretty i just cant bring myself to chuck the outer packaging :).

I’ve gone translucent im that pale! I love that is instant and has that buffer sponge in the top for an easy application.
Everything looks and sounds amazing! I have a love/hate relationship with Benefit with more misses than hits I must say but you reminded me how much I love Sun Beam and I should really repurchase soon.

I know what you mean, i could never wear their foundation and eye primer. Just didn’t work out for me. On the other hand, the powder cheek products are lovely.

I would still go with Dew the Hoola and maybe the brush. The brush is a must!
This collection looks absolutely lovely! I am such a fan of the hoola bronzer so I am sure that the rest of this collection is amazing as well!

That matte highlight sounds right up my street. I don’t like shimmers, but I love to add some contour to my face and brighten other areas.

Hoola was my first bronzer too! It’s still my favourite one today, but the self tan looks so good, I always struggle with streaks when I do it! Your whole post has made me want to buy the whole collection…may have to have a splurge 🙂

I really want something to put on my face after a few days in the sun because I don’t like wearing full coverage foundation in the sun, do you think the Dew the Hoola would be good on its own for holidays and when you come back with a tan (hopefully!)? Mwah

I think it would be stunning on tanned skin or just as a little something if you are going out makeup free. Even mixed with your normal foundation for a lift x
That brush is so pretty! I like how they have tinged it blue at the end. Definitely one to leave out on your dressing table. 🙂 x
