Last month i was sent the Uriage Water Sleeping Mask and the Clarins Moisturizing Reviving Eye Mask to try on and review and it couldn’t come in at a better timing. A few weeks ago we went to London for a few days at a family wedding, so what better way to test out hydrating products than after a flight, drinks and a few fights with a stropping toddler. It was the perfect occasion!
Uriage is a french pharmacy brand made for sensitive skin and based on thermal water, similar to La Roche Posay, Vichy and Bioderma. When i was really young i used to get their Hyseac range to fight oiliness and keep blemishes under control, its truly a great line and quite affordable. I initially tried on the Uriage Water Sleeping Mask (€19) straight after my flight and i have to admit, i got slightly addicted to the fresh cooling aqua gel. How can you not? The skin feels regenerated, plump and looks brighter. Its the perfect mask before a big event, being water based is not going to be heavy and i found that my makeup applied beautifully after.
Since the city break i have used the mask instead of a night cream a couple of times a week. Despite being April, we still had the central heating on daily, so that on top of copious amounts of coffee consumed, meant a quite dehydrated, dull complexion. The mask really helped plumping some of my fine lines and restored the skins softness. You can buy Uriage products here.
I doubt Clarins needs any introduction as a brand – their skincare line is worldwide known for its efficacy and quality. To get straight into the review, the Clarins Hydra Essential Reviving Moisturizing Eye Mask (€33) is one of the best under eye products i have ever tried. Again the initial testing was while i was away, i treated my dark circles to a quick 10 minutes boost before i applied my makeup and i was blown away how bright and plump it left my skin. So i figured if this is the result after 10 minutes, imagine what it can do after a full night.
I don’t have major wrinkles yet, but i do have plenty of fine lines around my eyes that seem to get emphasized when im using my full coverage concealers. My dark circles are quite terrible too so i choose between a wrinkly under eye or a brighter, rested looking one. Every time i use the Clarins Eye Mask overnight my under eye is a lot smoother in the morning and i do look a lot fresher and rested – even if im not. The texture is of a balmy gel cream, you can apply the mask as a quick 10 minutes fix before makeup or as a treatment at night. The eye mask is available on counter on 16th of April, in the meantime you can buy Clarins products .
