Weekend Beauty Haul

Hello my darlings, hope you are all well.

For the last month i felt this compelling desire to change my appearance, which includes everything from makeup to clothes and even hair color.

The hair color experiment didn’t go too well, used the ColorB4 successfully to lighten my hair only to realize that i look much better with darker tresses. Lasted about 5 days as a light brown girl until i changed back to dark brown. Which turned up black. Ah well, you cant have them all can you?!

So on Saturday i caved, although im supposedly on a spending ban. I really have the will power of a fly, don’t i? Working in one of the best beauty stores in Ireland doesn’t really help either…

This is my little beauty haul:

Got the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in their new shade Chamois, need that extra bit of coverage and I’m sick to see my skin transforming in an oil slick by the end of the day. This is my first time when i tried the DW, so far so good, love the long lasting properties…this stuff doesn’t budge rain or shine.

Also got my first beauty bits from Mac. Yes shock horror, i was never tempted to buy anything from Mac until now. I went for a mineral pressed powder Mineralize Skinfinish in Medium Plus, a cream blusher in the shade Lady Blush and an eyebrow pencil in Spiked.

I can see an ever growing collection of Mac stuff from now on, love everything i got. The blush is amazing and stays on all day long – i use a Lancome blusher brush (has a round flat head) to apply it and fix it with a powder blusher. The powder is great too, gives a bit of a dewy finish which im sure you already know. And Spiked…oh my darling Spiked, how beautiful you fill my sparse eyebrows.

Picked up all my favorite magazines with pretty freebies: Marie Claire with a Ciate Lipgloss, InStyle with two The Body Shop Eyeliners in black and blue (the choice is a mascara) and Cosmopolitan with Misguided Nail Polish in a beautiful orange/coral color.

Somebody needs a manicure asap

Like everything except the Ciate lipgloss – its in a nude, opaque milky color that looks horrible on my lips. Its kinda sticky too…bleah!

And finally, finished with a mandatory trip to Boots for some haircare stuff:

Wella hairspray, James Brown Volumizing Shampoo, Batiste Dry Shampoo for Brunettes, V05 volume spray and another mini dry shampoo from Lee Standford.

Got some pretty dresses too, might start doing some OOTD maybe when i go out, unfortunately for work i only wear black.

    Ah thanks Kate xo

Im not going to repeat the colorB4 anytime soon, it does work but it took ages to restore my hair to its original shiny condition. Also sadly im never going to get Jennifer Aniston’s hair color with DIY 🙁
