Cleansing Routine ft. Vichy, La Roche Posay and Clinique

Cleansing Routine YourBeauty IMG_7394

I truly enjoy coming home and taking my makeup off straight away, there’s no better feeling than taking off a face full of slap and feeling like your skin is breathing again.

Because any skincare routine starts with a perfectly clean skin, ive learned that ‘double cleansing’ works best for me. Which for me basically means taking off my makeup with a milk/balm cleanser and following up with a water based cleanser (Clarisonic optional) to thoroughly purify the skin. I must stress that my skin is on the oily combination side, so it enjoys a squeaky clean feeling.

If im feeling lazy, im using the Vichy 3in1 Milk cleanser as it removes eye makeup, lips and face in one go. Me and this cleanser have been going steady for the last few years, i generally have a tube on the go for holidays and late night shenanigans.

Since ive had my little accident, i needed to invest in a fragrance free, sensitive skin cleanser so the Clinique Take The Day off turned out to be perfect to clean my bruised face. I also got the balm version, because i was piling on the makeup for maximum coverage it was a pain to remove without pulling and rubbing the skin. Which for me, it meant pain and tears. The balm was an absolute god sent, rubbed a little bit on the skin so it transforms into an oil and then massaged gently to break off all the makeup. Followed up with a hot watered muslin cloth, all it will be removed in seconds!

For my eyes ive turned to the Vichy Waterproof Eye Makeup remover, nothing works best for my eyes than a bi-phase oil in water type of cleanser. As i generally go quite heavy on the eyes, i need something strong to remove it all.

In the shower, i finish off with the La Roche Posay Foaming Water*, sometimes using the Clarisonic to absolutely remove any traces of cleansers. This foaming water is so gentle and light, that is an absolute pleasure to use. Its not stripping at all, leaves the skin comfortable and radiant.

Lastly, in the morning time i gently prepare the skin for the day with a light sweep of Vichy Cleansing Water. I don’t like to over wash my face in the morning, but i still need to freshen up a bit. Meant for ultra sensitive skins, i find it very soothing and fresh.

Are you a fan of double cleansing? Or is just me and my OCD.

Hmm, do you double cleanse even with the Clarisonic? I just started using it and haven’t been doing that so far but have been wondering if I should…

Yes, I double cleanse after with the clarisonic in the shower. My skin is oily and I use a full coverage foundation, so I need extra help on my t-zone. I would use the clarisonic though 3 times a week only.

I’m a double cleanser too. Currently I’m using PAI cream cleanser and a Muslin cloth to remove make-up. Then I cleanse again with Paula’s Choice Pore normalising cleanser. I use that in the mornings also
