To celebrate my first day of holiday – staying in Costa de la Home for the next 9 days, we emerged in a little trip to Skerries. I haven’t been to those parts before, i know almost four years in Dublin and still have things on the To See/Do list. Ballbrigan and Rush are next, have so many friends living in those areas and still haven’t made an effort to visit.
Despite the windy, cloudy weather we had an absolute ball! Started with lunch in The Blue Bar – we both had pulled pork on a soft bap bread with coleslaw and fries, watered by a can of Brooklyn Lager. Looking around to see what others ordered, as i am classy like that, i wish i was ordering as well the steak, chicken wings, the goat cheese salad or any of the burgers. Everything was looking delicious and the portions were huge!
The decor alone was an Instagram dream, loads of cute maritime ornaments, great buzz and a very original layout. Next time im definitely seating in the Lobster Room! And apparently i have to try their cheesecake.
We will go back to Skerries for sure, preferably on a sunnier day, so if you have any other lovely spots to see, please get recommending! x

I haven’t been to Skerries in a while, but used to spend a week there every summer when I was a kid staying with my aunt. It’s a place I’ll always have a soft spot for, even in the depths of winter it can be beautiful.

It seems such a lovely place, we will go back for sure. All i am asking is a sunny day :)!
We haven’t ventured in this part of co. Dublin, we need to explore more. Seems like we can get stuck in a rut with our favorite places, want to branch out from the routine a bit more.
I’ve heard lots of people love the chicken wings in Blue Bar!
