Today’s post is a home decor one and my return to YouTube: my IKEA 5 best furniture buys. I had this video on my to do list for the last six months. I wanted to do the usual blog post, but i also felt an accompanying video would be very useful. Truth be told video terrifies me. Think deer caught in a headlight. My English goes, i cant articulate words properly and i panic. However, i managed to film a quick 10 minute and give you hopefully a good idea of what im talking about. Im going to try to overcome my ‘stage anxiety’ and hopefully bring a new video out every week. Content requests are very welcomed so hit me up with your suggestions. IKEA HEMNES GLASS DOOR CABINET WITH 3 DRAWERS
You have no idea of how long i looked for something to work in our living room. When we moved in to our house we removed the fake fireplace. I was out of ideas and money for two years, thinking what could work with our living room layout. So i came across this IKEA HEMNES glass cabinet with drawers. Just perfect to display little decorations and glass wear. And the drawers are roomy for some admin keeping. It would be absolutely gorgeous in a kitchen too. You could display your tableware and glass wear on top and table linens in the drawers. You can see it here.
IKEA BRUSALI HIGH CABINET WITH DOOR
I love this cabinet unit so much, i bought two! Its just perfect for our kitchen. We don’t have much counter space so i wanted something where i could hide our many appliances. Its quite affordable at only €99 and gives that ‘french cottage’ look on a budget. On one of the units i store my cookbooks and some decorations and on the other my microwave and some table wear. Im thinking to get two more on the bottom units so i can tie them together and create more counter space. Highly recommend it! You can check it out here.
IKEA HEMNES BATHROOM MIRRORED CABINET AND WASH STAND WITH TWO DRAWERS
Our bathroom is quite small so i wanted to incorporate a good storage solution for my ever growing beauty collection. HEMNES is once again a line we gravitated towards. I love the look of the units so much and it packs in a lot of product. The units can be both separately and there are different sizes and colors. Im thinking to replace the drawer knobs with something more nautical when i get a chance to give our bathroom a little makeover. You can check the mirrored cabinet here and the sink cabinet here.
IKEA HEMNES SHOE CABINET WITH FOUR COMPARTMENTS
This Ikea unit changed my hallway for the better, no more mess! I hated seeing all the shoes thrown in everywhere. Our hallway space is quite small so again i wanted something that could be functional and pretty. The unit can store two/three pairs of shoes per compartment with some space left for umbrellas too. I love it so much! I can display nice things on top and its super narrow for my hallway. Again, highly recommend. You can check it out here.
IKEA PAX WARDROBE SYSTEM
When we moved in we had these ugly, bulky in built wardrobes in two of the bedrooms. They were very unpractical for our needs so i decided to strip them out and get the IKEA PAX wardrobe system. We took measurements of our room and designed our perfect wardrobe space in store. You can customize the inside any way you wish. I went for some shelves and two baskets for my pjs and underwear. The baskets in particular have been life changing! No more mess. Our wall to wall wardrobes with all the accessories were around €1000 three years ago but the price depends on your own particular needs. So it can be as cheap or expensive as you need it.
