To be exact, 40 weeks and 1 day pregnant. Im officially overdue! My little pumpkin, well at this stage my watermelon, is taking its time and is in no rush to meet us. Rebellious already? Sometimes i wonder how im still able to walk and maintain my balance, my bump its sticking out that much.
I was super fortunate during the 9 months: i haven’t gotten sick once – only experienced mild nausea and loss of appetite, i haven’t swelled up too much – im just slightly more rounder and i haven’t even got a common cold. Pretty lucky! Weight wise i kept things within normal ranges, ive started my pregnancy at 60kg and now im 75kg – 2 stone gain. Sounds a lot but considering that at one stage i was walking around with a Nutella jar in my bag for snacking, im pretty happy with my gain.
Beauty wise, my skin, nails and hair thrived getting smoother, stronger and more luscious by the day. I haven’t experience pigmentation or pregnancy mask, i was very careful applying my high SPF rain or shine and even my bump pregnancy line is very faint. I was surprised to see that my belly button popped and that i actually found it cute, this was one thing that was freaking me out and dreading.
One very unpleasant surprise did happened, which honestly i didn’t expect at all. I got loads of side bump stretch marks and a few around the middle. I say that i didn’t expect it because i oiled myself in the best money can buy oils and lotions and genetic wise i wasn’t prone to them – my mum and both grandmothers didn’t get them. When I’ve examined my bump as usual, one early morning on my 30th week, i was covered in them. Like i said my bump grew fast and furious and it is the sticking out type, so my skin just gave up.
Another thing that i hope its temporary, none of my shoes fit me anymore. I mean i squeeze in them but i cant hardly walk, seems like my feet got wider. Everywhere i google i read that if your size changes is permanent, so that fills me with dread. What am i gonna do with my shoe collection?!
Anyway, these are all shallow and non important minor pregnancy side effects. Like i said i was very fortunate to have a healthy pregnancy so far, so lets hope my labor will be a breeze too. Im still in denial about it!

Hope everything will be alright.
Have a lovely year!
Nice blog, btw! I’m a Romanian girl but living in England.

Aw, merci mult Norisor! Sa imi tii pumnii 😀 x.
You look wonderful! Ah I remember how thick and great my hair and nails were, enjoy it while it lasts! I went a week overdue and had to go in to be induced but I was already dilated at that stage for a week so they just broke my waters! Just focus on getting sleep and relaxing as much as you can as there is literally no time to stop and take a moment once the baby arrives, but that’s the fun part! My feet also stayed bigger for ages after but keep your shoes and they will fit again eventually and I didn’t get sick once either, thanks goodness!
Labour is a blur and the second it’s over you’ll be too overjoyed to even think about it! And in case you’re considering it, an epidural is a wonderful thing:)

Aw thank you Yav for all the advice, i dont think im still fully realizing ill be a mum :)).
Going for another hospital check up this wednesday so hopefuly they’ll give the baby a push.
Oh im considering taking all the drugs available!
You look positively radiant and beautiful, which can be hard to pull at 40 weeks! My feet went up a size and five months later they’re still the same – it seems permanent ? x

Oh the horror! My pretty, pretty shoes :(!
Ah I hope the baby has made an appearance!! None of my shoes fit at the end of my pregnancy and I was freaking out! But everything goes back to normal after the baby arrives – even those pesky stretch marks shrink and improve. Good luck with the birth x

Not yet, still not too bothered to make an appearance :)). Oh you give me hope, all I’m doing lately is to google after pregnancy bellies and growing feet :D. I suppose,if these are my biggest worries I’m doing ok.
You look adorable! And the Christmas picture is such a treasure, it will be great to look back on to.
I experienced a gain in shoe size as well throughout my first pregnancy, and it did go down a little again I had gained about one and a half shoe sizes, meaning none of my shoes except trainers fit me anymore. After a few weeks, the majority of my shoes did fit again. Only the ones that had been a little tight before were really uncomfortable, so I would guess I gained about half a shoe size permanently.
Regarding the stretch marks I was lucky throughout the first pregnancy, but I blame it on my age more than anything else. Oils and creams can only support a little, as they don’t reach deep down into the tissue. But I was 34 already, and my connective tissue already loose, so I guess that helped a lot.
This time around my belly is way bigger than it was before, so I am afraid nothing will save me these days.

Yes it seems like half a size with me too, hope is not permanent because if it is ill have to sell them all. I lived in trainers and converse lately so didnt notice, only when i got new flats from Asos got a shock.
Im 32 so not far behind it, i still didnt expect the stretch marks :)). Hope at least my skin will snap back.
Whoever is reading this must think im constantly in crop tops by the way i carry on lol.
Wow, 40 weeks pregnant, you are reallly beautiful, best wishes!
