New: Vichy Normaderm Anti-Age Moisturiser

Always thinking of us gals with imperfections, Vichy has formulated their bestseller moisturiser Normaderm to cater for the ladies who are looking for a bit of an anti-age boost, while dealing with open pores, spots and bumbs. While keeping the original Normaderm, Vichy introduces in September the new Normaderm Anti-Age which is going to smooth out fine lines, tackle pigmentation irregularities and also keep the imperfections under control.

I had the pleasure to use it for a month now (got it as a PR sample) and to be honest, couldn’t come in a better time. If you remember from my past posts, i got an allergic reaction to a eye makeup remover and i was covered in bumps and spots. Horrendous!

The texture is hydrating and smooth, a gel-cream moisturiser who strangely enough feels quite unctuous on the skin, being soothing as a balm.

Vichy came a long way with their Normaderm range, still remember their original version very popular a few years ago. To be honest, that one didn’t agree with me at all – was very drying on the skin and i suspect it had to much alcohol content (the scent was strong) which irritated my face. Then it came Normaderm Tri-Active and Jackpot! Beautiful moisturising formula that hydrates enough my oily skin and left it matte.

I suppose the question is what makes Normaderm Anti-Age, well anti-age.

Both moisturisers are based on LHA (Lipo-hydroxy acid) – exfoliates the upper levels of the skin, unclogs the pores promoting cell renewal and Glycolic Acid – goes deeper in the skin and stimulates the skin renewal.

The Normaderm Anti-Age has an extra ingredient of Vitamin Cg  which will act as an antioxidant, stimulate the production of collagen and the most visible result, smooth out the skin and balance the pigmentation.

All this while hydrating the skin and keeping it matte.

For me it worked a treat: in no time my skin was looking smooth, fresh and clear. I only used it at night time, instead of the Effaclar K as it doesn’t have any SPF. Also, because of the acids in the composition i thought would be better to stay clear of the sun and use it as a night treatment. Loved how in the morning my forehead wasn’t the usual oil slick and my imperfections (spots!) diminished.

It will definitely become a staple in my routine!

Normaderm Anti-Age available in pharmacies nationwide from September. RRP. €17.50 for 50 ml.

I just bought it today, I had to use hormones again and my skin looks terrible, oily and with a lot of bumps. I was a little bit scared about how agressive this lotion could be, for your comments it seems it is not. I will use sun protection. Wish me luck!
