Cleansing oils have rocked my world since ive tried the Shu Uemura Brightening Cleansing oil last winter. The only drawback and reason for holding back on repurchasing, was of course the steep price – almost €60 for a 500ml and €35 for a 200ml. Yes, it does last months and it is super effective in removing makeup, but splurging so much on a cleansing product made me delay a getting a new bottle.
When L’oreal released the Skin Perfection range containing a cleansing oil, i secretly hoped that it will compare to the luxurious Shu Uemura. Both brands are under Loreal and is well known that the technology and science behind ranges is shared amongst brands, the only difference being of course the quality of ingredients and the strength of active ingredients. So a luxury face treatment will work much better and faster than a high street one.
I instantly knew i striked gold after my first use: with only two pumps of oil and the use of a Liz Earle face cloth, i was left with a clean, makeup free face. I totally stand by the 15 seconds claim, it literally breaks down everything super fast, including waterproof mascara with no residue behind.
This cleansing oil contains mineral oil and i know there is a huge hype at the moment to avoid using it. Personally, im not too concerned about the mineral oil components, as my skin seems to be thriving on products containing this. If anything, every time i try to use a natural, mineral oil free product i breakout.
Got it on offer in Boots for €7.99. Ill definitely try the Cleansing Water and the Eye Makeup Remover.
