I generally struggle as a beauty blogger when it comes to monthly favorites, my routine doesn’t change as much and it seems i take absolute ages to finish off a product. Cue my excitement this month, when i’ve realized i finally have some NEW beauty products to talk about!
The Morrocan Oil Light was recommended by my hair stylist when i got my hair cut in Style Club, to help tame frizz, add softness and radiance to my processed mop. It is absolutely fantastic, truly life changing! Ive used my fair share of hair oils before: i liked the Kerastase Oleo Relax, found the Shu Uemura Essence Absolue outstanding, yet pricey and disliked the Ojon Rare Blend Oil (thankfully i only got a small bottle), it was way to heavy and no matter how little i would use it would transform my hair in a grease ball.
The texture is great for my fine hair, it moisturises my ends, smells amazing and leaves my hair soft, yet bouncy. Next time im going for the big bottle.
Style Lab is a new to me brand, i was gifted the Style Extender Spray as part of a goodie bag received at the opening of Space NK in June (post here). Formulated for fine hair, this spray will give texture and hold to your style, whilst repelling dirt and oil. I love it! It helps to add bounce to my layered style and i seem to get an extra day from my blow out. Its a great alternative to a hairspray for somebody who wants an ultra light, flexible hold.
Because i suddenly became aware of my sun damage and pigmentation spots (see my MyChelle skin analysis here), i have become very diligent with my skincare – in particular resurfacing acids. Every night i am using the Ren AHA Concentrate to refine my skin texture, add radiance and even out skin tone. The clarity and radiance you get from using glycolic or AHA acids is unbelievable: day after day, my face has become smoother and more even, even fine lines seems to be less noticeable.
The combination of using acids at night, with my morning time routine – Clinique Smart Serum + Even Better SPF 20 Moisturising lotion seem to be working well, i might pop a quick skincare routine video when i get confident enough. Would you be interested?
I’ve rediscovered my Mac Studio Fix foundation in NC25 when i was shopping my stash, looking for a foundation to match my in between face color. Im not as tanned as i was when i came back from my holiday, yet i am not winter pale either, so i was struggling to match my skin. The NC25 is absolutely perfect, just melts into my skin looking flawless. I love the finish, staying power and looks airbrushed in photos. The only minus is the smell – melted crayons, but i think i can live with that.
Lastly, the Avon Luxe lipstick in Designer Red was sent by my sister (read her blog here) as a little pick me up. Apparently i was sent this by Avon, when i got my invitation for the Digital Divas Awards from Bucharest for my blog nomination, which for obvious reasons i couldn’t attend.
This lipstick reminds me of the 80’s glossy beauty magazine covers – strong blushers, mad hair and an ultra glossy rich red lipstick. The pigmentation is sensational, the texture is creamy and leaves a glossy shine to the lips. I am using it with Mac Red lip liner to avoid bleeding, when i want impressive statement lips. Because of the sheen, the lips seem more voluminous and juicy – yes, terrible word association but this is what comes to mind when i apply it. I need more shades!
