#AlproAMChallenge – Black Forest Protein Smoothie

Black Forest Protein Shake Alpro Dark Chocolate Almond Milk The Alpro Challenge I have embarked on a low carb/ high fat/ high protein challenge to lose some pounds and clean up my diet. My main focus is to eat well, cut down the sugar and avoid starches – the main culprits who usually make me gain weight and make me feel lethargic.

I am trying to be creative with my breakfast, i usually just have a large black coffee and run out the door, only to crash and eat everything in sight at about 11 o’clock. So i needed something tasty, filling and easy to make before i leave for work – a mix of high protein, a few carbohydrates and sugar for energy with touch of good fat.

Black Forest Protein Smoothie:

  • 200ml Alpro Dark Chocolate Almond Milk
  • a handful of frozen, unsweetened sour cherries
  • one scoop chocolate protein powder
  • one teaspoon of coconut butter

Macros: 39% carbohydrates/ 36% fat/ 24% protein.

Nutrition: 371 calories, 15g fat, 39 carbs (30g sugar), 6g fiber, 24g protein.

NB. If you want to cut carbohydrates and sugar even more, just use unsweetened plain almond milk. I just had to try the dark chocolate version.

Shake well in a blender and enjoy it in a jam jar, with a striped straw :).
