My second lipstick from the Clinique’s Soft Matte collection had to be Peony – another bright, fun pink. Compared to Magenta (post here) which is a cool toned fuchsia with quite an obvious violet tinge, Peony is a warm toned pink, with a red undertone.
I paired it with Mac Cherry lip liner, for the ultimate pout, i tend to apply the lipstick first and then define the edges for an ultra subtle ombre. Lining after lipstick application, usually gives me the most volume, so if you want show stopping lips try it this way.
Formula wise, i find them amazing for their super pigmented colors and long lasting properties. Its the type of lipstick that you can confidently pop it on for and be sure its not going to move or fade. Its a bit dryer than usual Clinique formulas, but compared to the matte formulas from Mac – it doesn’t destroy my lips just as much as Ruby Woo or Russian Red.
Have you tried the Clinique Soft Matte lipsticks yet?
