For as long as i remembered i loved the dungaree trend and who would’ve thought that at 34 i will be getting my first pinafore dress and straw bag. I was scouring the internet looking for the perfect dress and bag, ive tried on countless variations of the trend in store without too much luck. They were either too tight or were making me look slightly pregnant – either way not very flattering options.
Until i passed by chance a Mango concession and was starring right back at me! I love the navy denim (, but with a toddler im just asking for trouble) and the buttons in front – they give the dress such a retro feel and slightly shapes the silhouette. What i love about it is that i can dress it up either with a pair of heeled wooden sandals or down with a pair of converse. I can add either striped t shirts or flowy blouses underneath or in the winter time, light knits and ankle boots. I am all about versatility when it comes to my wardrobe and i like to get as much wear out of my pieces.
The bag was a – i was looking for an affordable round bag that would hit the ‘basket bag’ trend and yet not cost an arm and a leg. I like that is not bulky or flimsy, the leather strap is comfortable and long enough to allow cross body wear. The inside is quite roomy, i would be able to fit my iphone 7, purse, brush and a couple of lippies no problem. I wouldn’t keep too many valuables though as its quite revealing when the fastening is open.
