Im very new to the whole YouTube world. Every year i threaten that ill start creating video content and always chickened out. My motto this year is ‘to be brave‘ and im putting myself out there more. Its a challenge and something that im applying to all aspects of my life. Probably the thing that prevented me starting uploading video more often is that constant perfectionism and self critique that i subject myself too. My editing skills are poor. I seem to loose all my ability to form consecutive sentences in front of a camera. I scrutinize my appearance and i leave video content on the long finger. Maybe if my teeth were straighter, my skin clearer then ill do video.
Its an absolutely ridiculous way of thinking. It has taken me a long time to get my mindset from ‘once ill have this then…‘ to ‘ok lets give it a try now‘. Editing skills can be learned only with plenty of practice. And my physical insecurities are just vanity notions.
So here is to be a lot kinder to ourselves. Live in the present and always looking for way of becoming our own best selves.
