Even before we bought our home, i knew i wanted floating shelves in the living room above our couch to create a small gallery of trinkets and pictures. I was toying with the idea of either getting a gallery of photos and posters or the shelves. In the end the shelves won because it meant i could store and display candles and other souvenirs, safe from a certain toddler sticky little hands.
I went for two IKEA LACK wall shelf in white (my measurements are 190x26cm) that just fitted very well with the length of my couch. Again i was in two minds of either stacking the two shelves one on top of the other or the current version, i think either works it just depends on your couch and general living room vibe.
The styling didn’t came in easy, i knew from the start i wanted some Desenio posters to dress them but it took me months to settle down on two designs for the living room. All of them are just so good! Desenio are a Stockholm based, Swedish business that sell these Scandinavian fabulous prints. The quality of the paper is brilliant, vibrant colors and fast shipping, I got four posters during their Black Friday sale, two for the living room and two for the bedroom and im already planning my next shop.
Once i had the Desenio posters up everything kinda came together: i have my fancy Jo Malone and Max Benjamin candles, my favorite yellow Hello sign from Next, some plants and just a couple of other trinkets from Ikea. Eventually i will get some personal photos up and maybe a flowing green plant to add more texture and color.
Another key item that i was looking for ages is my H&M Home mirror – its just the perfect size and shape for the space. They always have similar mirrors online so do look them up if you fancy a similar one.
